The structure can come in pre-fabricated or pre-made parts that are assembled at the site. This installation will need ground digging of just half of the height of the pit so a portion of the pit extends above the ground. The composition of the pit has a walling made of bricks or stones. The walls will help insulate the fire and block the wind from putting off the fire. Sunken fire pit is mostly found in residences where owners have more time on outdoor living.
Another famous form of fire pits is the copper fire pit – an above ground outdoor fire pit. This type of outdoor fire pit is portable and can be moved easily by one person. Copper pit has metallic support that provide a dish or plate where a bonfire can be built. It also comes with a spark screen to provide cover from the flames. The purpose of the spark screen is to keep the flames inside the firebox and while allowing in fresh moving air inside.
Other fire pits can come with a gas fueled feature. This type however is mounted permanently in one place since a gas pipe is needed to be fixed to provide fuel. Gas fuel fire pits can be sunken or above ground types. Pits that use propane also work this way but with a tank close to it. This type is usually made of metal casings and shaped like a large bowl or box. This type of fire pit is particularly famous in places where wood burning outdoor fire pits are not allowed by the government. Some places however are limited to use of fire pits at home backyards and not in the woods.
